The Change Islands Community Centre is the former SUF Hall (Society of United Fishermen), an historic building owned by the local Chapter of the SUF, a benevolent society established by the Anglican Church in the later 1800's to provide fellowship and a support system for its members at a time when few services were available to fishermen and their families.

The Change Islands Community Centre is the facility on the island where most large functions (dances, parties, community suppers, etc.) are held and is available for rent.

The Recreation Centre is the former Lodge of the Loyal Orange Association, a Protestant benevolent organization that was first established in Newfoundland in the mid 1860's. The Orange Order was first established in England in the 1600's as a Protestant fraternal organization.

The Loyal Orange Lodges in Newfoundland communities were a centre of community life in the 19th-20th centuries.

The Change Islands Branch was finally disbanded in 2009 and the building was purchased by a group of local residents who donated it to the town. This century old building is used for local events such as the Garden Party, family events, yard sales and is available for rent.
